My XXODD Device Won’t Update
If you receive an “update timeout” message in the XXODD App and your device refuses to update, follow the steps below to resolve the issue.
Manual Update
Try updating the device manually first:
- Open the XXODD App
- Go to Settings > Devices
- Select your XXODD device (SpeedStack, QuickCharge, Air Manager, MonoAir, etc.)
- Tap the three dots in the top-right corner
- Choose Update
If this does not work, continue with the solutions below.
Solutions
1. Check WiFi Signal Strength
Try the following:
- Move the device closer to your WiFi access point
- Try the update again
2. Restart Your Router
A router reboot often resolves temporary network issues.
- Unplug your router
- Wait 30 seconds
- Plug it back in
- Wait until it fully restarts
- Attempt the update again
3. Connect to Another WiFi Network
Some routers may block the update process.
If the update still fails, temporarily connect your XXODD device to a different WiFi network
- Connect the device to an alternative WiFi network and retry the update
- If you have a mobile hotspot, create a hotspot on your phone, tablet or laptop and connect the device to it
- Preferably use mobile data, not your home network, for this temporary update process
Note: While connected to another network, devices that need to communicate with your P1 Meter or smart meter will temporarily be disconnected. They will reconnect automatically once they’re back on the same network.
