Placement & Installation of the XXODD SpeedStack

Learn how to place your SpeedStack battery safely and correctly, and what you need to get it running.

What do I need to get the SpeedStack operational?

You’ll need a suitable installation location and a free electrical connection. In addition, make sure you have:
  • A stable WiFi connection
  • A phone or tablet (Android or iOS)
  • Solar panels (optional but recommended)
  • A smart meter
  • A compatible P1 Meter or kWh Meter for energy monitoring
The XXODD SpeedStack operates independently of your energy provider and is compatible with all inverters and solar brands.
For the most up-to-date installation instructions, always refer to the official manual. It contains the latest safety updates, wiring requirements, and commissioning procedures.

How do I connect the SpeedStack using a kWh Meter?

We advise using a P1 Meter for the simplest installation and most accurate control. If a P1 Meter is not an option, the SpeedStack can also be operated via a HomeWizard kWh Meter.

Use either a 1-phase or 3-phase kWh Meter connected to your main fuse board. Pair the meter in the HomeWizard App and select the profile “Main Connection”. Once linked, follow the SpeedStack installation instructions in the manual to complete the setup.

How many SpeedStacks can I connect?

You can install up to 4 SpeedStacks in parallel. This allows scalable storage capacity for higher household or commercial energy demands.

Can I connect the SpeedStack to a power strip or extension cord?

No. The SpeedStack draws significant continuous power. Power strips and extension cords are not designed for sustained high loads and may overheat. Always connect the battery directly to a proper electrical connection as specified in the manual.

Where should I place the SpeedStack?

Install the SpeedStack in a dry, frost-free, and safe indoor location.
Avoid direct sunlight or areas exposed to significant heat or moisture.

Recommended locations include:
  • Storage room
  • Utility room
  • Garage
  • Basement
  • Technical room
  • Attic (if structurally suitable)

Avoid placing the battery in escape routes or areas that must remain accessible in emergencies.
The SpeedStack cannot be installed outdoors.

Required clearance around the SpeedStack

Maintain at least:
  • 10 cm of space on both sides
  • 50 cm of clearance above the unit
For stacked installations, the same 50 cm clearance applies above the top battery.

Can the SpeedStack be placed outdoors?

No.
Outdoor conditions such as sun exposure, moisture, and freezing temperatures negatively affect performance, safety, and lifespan.
Outdoor batteries require active heating during winter, which increases energy consumption.
The SpeedStack is designed exclusively for indoor installation.

How do I stack multiple SpeedStacks?

  • Multiple SpeedStacks can be safely stacked to increase storage capacity.
  • Each unit includes a wall-mounting bracket.
  • Attach the bracket to the top battery and secure it to the wall to prevent tipping.
